Description
GRAN BUIG, the wine from the Great Vintages from the Mas d’en Gil estate. A wine for those who want to enjoy this concert naturally instrumented by the taste buds and above all to share. For those, who prefer to let it rest, they will be able to wake it up again for the next 20 years.
Origins:
The GRAN BUIG is a wine that is only made from the Great Vintages and that, at MAS de en GIL, we have only produced in 1998, in 2004 and finally in 2016.
Made from a selection of two plots, one of red Grenache and one of Carignan that we make separately in exceptional vintages.
The Grenache plot is oriented to the east, thus receiving the influence of the garbinada or Mediterranean wind. The terroir is spotted phyllite slate, characteristic of the MAS de en GIL estate.
The 2016 vintage was, what we could call, an ideal vintage, the perfect vintage. The grapes were so beautiful and their health was close to the best of a winegrower’s dream.
The 2016 vintage is alive, the fruit is fresh, a fruit that encapsulates an almost eternal youth. And on the palate it lets us enjoy a special acidity that will mark the life of the wines made this year.

Tasting notes:
Gran Buig 2016 is visually a wine with sparkles that glow cherry color.
The first aroma is the expression of fresh fruit.
Aromatic, floral nose, sweet and complex species.
The first step on the palate has a lot of energy thanks to the acidity of 2016.
The palate is discreet and fine with hints of garrigues and Mediterranean undergrowth.
The Gran Buig is a wine with fluidity, complexity, finesse and balance …
A tribute to hedonism and the land of Priorat.
